Boys U18 (2007) Major - Moone Celtic
Moone Win Lacklustre Affair
The u18s headed to Moone Celtic for their second game of the season, arriving to Fortfield Park off the back of a good result last weekend.
Naas were the brighter and settled into the game quickly setting about imposing their game on the home team, but despite some fine pieces of play couldn't find a breakthrough and on the 25th minute Moone would take the lead with a low driven strike from the edge of the box when Naas failed to deal with the follow up from a Moone corner. Now behind Naas rallied but Moone were now in control playing some superb passing football and on the 38th min Moone would add a 2nd goal when some excellent play down the left wing opened up the Naas defence and allowed the Moone number 8 slot the ball home.
Naas started the 2nd half as they had the 1st, now chasing the game and trying to find a way back into it. As the half wore on tired legs started to set in and despite their best efforts Naas couldn't find that goal that may have dragged themselves back into the mix and give them the lift they needed. Moone would see the game out as 2 nil winners.
Coaches Note: Not the result we wanted today, and apart from 2 sloppy pieces of play there was very little between the 2 teams, I have no doubt we'll bounce back next week and get 3pts on the board.
Best For Naas: Jake Kelly, Tommy Carey, Michael Balfe
Player Of The Game: Charlie Dunne.
