U13 Purple 24/25 - Bury Rangers
GOGS U12 purples v Bury RangersÂ
Today we played away against Bury Rangers. We knew that today would be tough as the team is strong and plays pretty aggressively.Â
we turned up to the playing fields and the pitches were terrrible with huge divots in the ground and pretty much pure mud.Â
on kick off we pressed well, but within the first two mins a silly mistake lost us possession of the ball, which meant Bury had a clear shot. They took a shot which was caught by Sophie but the ball then slipped out of her hands and fell behind the line. A pure lucky goal, but these things happen. đź’ś
Bury were now fired up and we just couldn’t get a goal. We had three shots on goal which went in but all three were deemed “off side” which got the team feeling down, but they just wasn’t listening and we didn’t play the best today. Our passing was poor, and ball control just wasn’t there today. It’s frustrating because we know we can play much better than that. We just didn’t bring our “A game” today.Â
However, Nyah on the left wing had an amazing game. She played a true wing back position running up and down the line, battling hard and looking for crosses, so she was awarded POTM today.Â
It wasn’t our day today, and we’ll take our performance away and work to improve this during training. Next week we’ll aim to come back stronger and more aligned as a team.Â
