Girls U11's Wildcats - Christ the King
An action packed game today away at Christ the King, goals, strong tackles and some questionable time keeping!
Calamity at the start as CTK took the lead in the opening minute when Lily had butterfingers in goal 🧈 but made up for it later in the half with a good save - we dominated for most of the half.
We were shooting early throughout the match causing lots of problems for the opposition. Great moments from every player during the game with strong challenges, chances, clearances, passing and movement.
Maisie equalised on 16 minutes after a strong run and finish. ⚽️
Maisie then curled a shot from outside the box, hitting the post, Emily was in the area and scored from the rebound to give us the lead at halftime.⚽️
Well done Arabella volunteering for goalkeeper for the second half allowing Lily to play outfield.👍
First minute of the second half Maisie’s corner found Emily at the near post, Emily slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 3-1! ⚽️
That should have been the game won but to be fair to CTK they didn’t give up and got a goal back almost immediately. CTK swapped 2 players into defence who were both very strong and were much better defensively from then on. We still created chances but the keeper saved well a number of times.
23rd minute (again!) of the second half CTK equalised.
Incredibly we played for another 12 minutes with the referee giving plenty of time for CTK to find a winner. We held on though!
