U11 Comets - Sandhurst Raptors

Away game vs Sandhurst Raptors 

A magnum performance from the Comets today! 

The first quarter saw a fairly even start to the game but we had the slight upper hand thanks to the Comets determination to win this game. 

We had a few chances and one lead to the ball being passed through the middle of Sandhurst defenders through to Thomas and Fletcher who were both equally chasing the ball down to beat the keeper , both went for a chance on goal but Thomas pulled out a sliding toe punt to squeeze it past the keeper and making it 1-0 . 

Our defenders Fizaan and Luca both stopping any ball from going past them when Sandhurst tried to equalise . 

Second quarter and we had many chances to run at their defence but they kept the Comets away .

Alex had one of his trademark power shots from outside the box which hit the crossbar and rebounded to the keeper . 

Sandhurst managed to counter attack us and got away with winning a corner .  They ended up having 4 corners in a row as Dylan and Henry at the front post put out any ball that came near them. 

 Half time and there wasn’t much said to the players as they were all working well as a team. 

3rd quarter and we started where we left off , working as a team in all areas of the pitch. We won a throw in near the corner flag which was taken quickly by Henry to pass to Fletcher who crosses it in but no one got to the ball , but it did luckily roll out to Alex on the other side who crosses it back in to Josh who placed it in the net 2-0 .

Another attack from Fizaan who was now playing on the right wing passed to Fletcher who just missed the ball to roll out for a goal kick .

Fizaan and Dylan who had switched from right wing to center midfield  worked well together from a free kick  with some passing between them both earning Dylan the chance to score making it 3-0 . 

4th quarter and the players all showed they wanted this win until the very end. Josh continued to play as he had all game with some good passing and also helping attack and defend for the Comets. 

Our defence of Henry , Luca and Fizaan all took turns in stopping any ball from nearing our goal leaving Will with little to do all game , however the couple of shots that did head towards him , he stopped with ease.  Dylan , Alex , Thomas , Josh and Fletcher all worked well in midfield and upfront all game with helping out defence when needed and them all working as a team to work the ball up the pitch to lead our attacks with some excellent passing between them all . 

POTM goes to Thomas who didn’t give up all game and was determined to help Comets grab another win .
