RESPECT EACH OTHER - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

We would like to bring to your attention the concerning rise in misconduct by adults, as highlighted by the leagues.

Please remember that when an incident occurs, each individual is accountable for their own actions. Lately, we've been hearing the excuse, "but they started it." This is not acceptable. Everyone must take responsibility for their behaviour and reactions.

We urge you to review the FA Codes of Conduct. The increasing instances of adults swearing, abusing others, threatening, and encroaching on the field of play are completely unacceptable. Let's not forget, those on the pitch are children.

While you may disagree with the match official, you do not have the right to question, argue, swear at, or threaten them.

Spectators and managers, if you find it difficult to get along, it's better to avoid engaging with one another rather than resorting to threats, shouting, and disrupting the game.

Entering the field of play without the match official's invitation is strictly prohibited.

Under no circumstances should you swear at, threaten, abuse, or belittle the players.

Spectators should refrain from coaching, as it confuses the players and undermines their development.

Please be mindful of your language. Expressions like "take them out" or "put a foot in" can be interpreted literally. Football is a physical game, but it is not meant to be aggressive.

This is THEIR game.

Thank you,

Garforth & Selby Junior Football League
