Club Statement of Support for the "Donate For Daire" Campaign
Naas AFC extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Daire Plunkett, a wonderful 11-year-old boy who sadly passed away earlier this year after a brave fight against leukaemia. Daire was a talented young footballer who played for Kill Celtic. Football unites us all in times of loss.
Today, we stand in solidarity with Kill Celtic and the Plunkett family as they launch the Donate For Daire campaign. This important initiative seeks to honour Daire’s memory by increasing the number of donors on the platelet register in Ireland, which is essential for helping others in need. During his treatment, Daire required over 30 platelet transfusions, underscoring how critical these donations can be.
