Club statement: New Chairman Ger Hughes

Dear Members, Parents, and Coaches,

We are delighted to announce that Ger Hughes has been appointed as the new Chairman of Naas AFC.

Ger is no stranger to the club, having served as our long-standing Club Secretary with unparalleled dedication and commitment. His deep understanding of the club, combined with his passion for football and community development, makes him the perfect person to step into the Chairman role.

Ger succeeds Jim Hand, who held the position for the past year. Under Jim’s guidance, the club made significant strides forward, including:

• The successful launch of SportMember, which is already transforming how we engage with members.
• Major progress on our astro training area project, which will be a game-changer for the club’s future.
• The launch of our girls section. 
• A freshening up of the committee with several new members.

In addition Jim played a crucial leading role in ensuring the continuation of football for the children of the county when the KDUL faced major challenges this time last year. 

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jim for his leadership and contributions during his tenure.

As we look to the future, we encourage anyone with a passion for the club to consider joining the committee. Fresh perspectives and new ideas are always welcome as we continue to grow and thrive.
