Arthur Till Cup

Bedworth and District Air Rifle League
26 Mar 2025

The 2024-2025 League season has officially wrapped up, and last night marked the beginning of our individual shoots the first being the Arthur Till Cup. And let me tell you, WOW! The quality of shooting from all participants was absolutely amazing to witness.

The Arthur Till Cup is an individual trophy where we group players based on their averages. This year, we had 4 groups - A, B, C, and D - and the competition was fierce in each one.

Let's kick things off with Group D, where 9 shooters attended and put on a fantastic display of shooting skills. Standout performances came from Roman Barr, who scored an impressive 26 in the first round, closely followed by Jaiden Barlow with 25.1. The competition heated up in the second round, with Roman, Stephen, Jaiden, and Frank advancing. Roman's solid score of 23 in the second round secured him the top spot with a total of 49. Congratulations to all participants!

Moving on to Group C, the competition remained intense with notable scores from Ciaran (26.2), Milo (26.1), Mick (26.1), and Nick (26.1). These four advanced to the final round, where Milo made a comeback with a score of 27, clinching the lead with 53.1 over Ciaran’s impressive 51.3.

In Group B, the high-quality shooting continued with close scores from all players. Isaac led the Group with 27.2, closely followed by Natalie with 27.1. However, it was Stephen who stole the show with an impressive 28.1 in the first round, securing the top spot. In the end, Stephen held his nerve and took first place with a total score of 54.2, beating out Natalie's solid score of 52.1. Isaac rounded out the top three with a score of 51.2. What an incredible display of shooting skills

This year, Group A witnessed the league's top players coming together to face the challenging 1/4 inch bullseye target. The bullseye was just slightly larger than the pellet itself, requiring the players to bring their absolute best to the table.

The competition kicked off with Linda, who scored an impressive 27 out of 30 on her first attempt at this type of target. Following her, Klaus and Bill both scored 28.1, tying for the top spot in the first round. Andrew and Rikki also put up strong scores of 27 and 27.1, securing their spots in the top 5 for round 2.

Round 2 was intense, with Klaus finishing in 3rd place with a total score of 54.2. The top 2 spots were up for grabs, and it all came down to Andrew and Rikki. Andrew took the lead with an outstanding score of 29.1, giving him a total of 56.1. Rikki needed to be nearly perfect to catch up, but unfortunately missed a crucial shot, ending with a total score of 55.1 and securing 2nd place.

The competition showcased some incredible shooting skills from all participants, and we can't wait for more thrilling competitions to come. Stay tuned for more amazing shooting skills!
