U11 Comets - Sandhurst Raptors
Home game vs Sandhurst RaptorsÂ
Before the game had started over night rain made the pitch a bit wet and muddy but that is a sign of things to come for the next few months - yay English weather đ . But we didnât let that ruin our sundae funday .Â
We started the game with 8players due to half term holidays against Sandhurst who had plenty of subs .Â
We asked Will ( who pretty much volunteered) to start in goal and also debut our new yellow goal keeper top too. With Dylan volunteering to be the starting sub - which made it easier for the coach to choose the starting line up - this left Fizaan and Henry to take the defensive role , Alex to take his position in center midfield we then switched Josh and Fletcher on the wings to right and left leaving Zaeem to take his striker position.Â
We started the game slowly in the first and second quarters but still showed promising signs of taking the lead. Any attack from the opposition was either stopped by our defence or scooped up by our keeper Will.Â
Quarter 3 and our players woke up and working as a team came closer and closer to scoring but  Sandhurst denied our chances with their player marking and closing down our players and their keeper making some great saves.  Our time to score come as some good build up play led to Alex taking the ball down the left wing to pass to Fletcher who passed the ball between the keeper and defender across the goal towards josh who tapped it in the back of the net to make it 1-0 .Â
Quarter 4 and we again showed great team work and determination to grab another goal with chances for
Dylan who was now playing on the right wing showing signs that he wanted his first goal . We even had Henry and Fizaan both confidently running with the ball from defence to the other end of the pitch and both coming close with some great shooting .Â
In the end we finally got the second goal from a corner taken by Alex - who had taken several in a row by now - the ball eventually landed at Dylanâs feet for him to make it 2-0 and get his first goal for the Comets.
